Discover the Power of Shared Understanding
Group therapy offers a unique and powerful way to explore yourself in relation to others.
In a small, confidential group setting (usually 5–9 participants), guided by a professional psychologist or psychotherapist, you have the chance to connect, reflect and grow through real interpersonal experience.
Unlike individual therapy, group therapy provides the opportunity to see how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours affect others — and how others’ reactions help you better understand yourself. It’s a safe, supportive space to explore new ways of relating and to develop emotional resilience.
How Group Therapy Works
Sessions are typically 90 minutes (2×45) and take place weekly or twice a week, either in-person in Budapest or online.
Groups are small and closed, meaning the same people meet regularly, allowing trust and openness to develop over time.
The process lasts from several months to 1–2 years, providing enough depth for real and lasting change.
Your group therapist helps guide discussions and interactions so that you can:
- Explore emotions and communication patterns
- Understand relational difficulties
- Build confidence and empathy
- Experiment with new ways of expressing yourself
- Experience meaningful connection and belonging
Who Can Benefit from Group Therapy
Group psychotherapy can be highly effective for individuals who struggle with:
- Repeated relationship or communication issues
- Difficulty connecting with others
- Social anxiety or isolation
- Low self-esteem or emotional blocks
- Stress or burnout
- Desire for self-awareness and personal growth
It’s also a great fit for expats and international professionals in Budapest who want to connect authentically and process life changes in a supportive environment.
Self-Knowledge and Interpersonal Growth
Group therapy is also a powerful tool for self-knowledge development.
Through dialogue, honest feedback, and empathy, you learn more about your emotions, communication style and how you relate to others.
You’ll gain insight into patterns that may limit you — and gradually develop more authentic, balanced relationships both personally and professionally.
Some groups are also focused on personal development, without a specific clinical goal — designed to help you grow emotionally, improve self-awareness and build communication skills.
